Welcome to Briarwood Farms
Briarwood's involvement with the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) began way back in the 1980's. At that time the IHSA's founder, Bob Cacchione was working hard to establish an amazing program promoting serious competition amongst college students. The Assocation that has evolved has changed only slightly throughout the years. It brings students together to compete in showing while still addressing their campus obligations. Riders come dressed to show thier skills, taking their boots, helmets and showcoats with them from campus. Yet no horses travel with them - they rise to the challenge of riding horses provided to them by a facility hosting the event. The competition involves classes on-the-flat and over-fences, with the winner being the rider who best presents a correct and stylish ride on an unfamiliar horse! With the IHSA, team comaraderie ads a fun dimension to the world of horse showing. Find out more about this great program at www.ihsainc.com
